Israeli Channel 12 reported on Saturday that the regime's security forces are bracing for a possible Ansarullah response after joint airstrikes targeted various sites in Yemen on Friday.
The report indicated "genuine fears" that the Yemeni resistance group may retaliate within hours of the coordinated military operation. It noted that the recent airstrikes marked "the fifth such attack" on Ansarullah since the outbreak of Israeli genocidal war in Gaza on October 7, 2023.
Yemen’s al-Masirah television network reported that the joint strikes by Israeli, American, and British aircraft targeted Amran Province, north of Sana’a. The strikes reportedly included multiple attacks on areas near the Harf Sufyan District, as well as Ra’s Isa Port and al-Hudaydah Port in western Yemen.
In response, Yemen's armed forces reported on Friday to have conducted retaliatory strikes against an American aircraft carrier, the USS Harry S. Truman, and several other US warships in the Red Sea using cruise missiles and drones. The strikes were said to be in retaliation for US support of Israel's military actions in Gaza.
Since October 2023, Yemeni forces have intensified operations against Israeli targets in solidarity with Gaza and Lebanon, both under severe assault by Israeli forces. The Yemeni strikes have escalated in response to continued aggression by Israel, the US, and the UK, focusing on strategic and sensitive targets, including US naval vessels near Yemen's coastline.
