Israeli regime's Minister of Military Affairs Yisrael Katz made the remarks on Monday, declaring that the regime would escalate its aggressions against Yemen, including targeted assassinations.
"Just as we did to [Ismail] Haniyeh, [Yahya] Sinwar, and [Sayyed Hassan] Nasrallah in Tehran, Gaza, and Lebanon," Katz stated, referencing assassinations of the former Hamas Political Bureau chief, his successor, and the former secretary-general of Hezbollah. He further threatened that Israel would “damage the strategic infrastructure, and behead the leaders“ of any group that opposes it.
Haniyeh was assassinated by the Israeli regime in July in Tehran, where he had traveled as an official guest for the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. In October, Sinwar was also martyred in an Israeli strike on Gaza. The regime also assassinated Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in September in Beirut.
Katz extended the threats to Yemen, naming the capital Sana’a and the western port city of al-Hudaydah as potential targets. The Yemeni Ansarullah has conducted numerous strikes against the regime in Tel Aviv in recent months in support of Palestinians in Gaza. Meanwhile, the United States-backed genocidal war in Gaza has so far claimed the lives of more than 45,200 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
Despite the high-profile assassinations, resistance groups have vowed resilience. Movements across the region, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and their Yemeni allies, have pledged to rebuild and intensify their operations, saying that they would not be affected by any hostile measures, including assassination of their leaders.
