Russia Emphasizes Importance of Strategic Partnership Agreement with Iran

Dmitry Peskov underscored the importance of the Iranian president's upcoming visit to Russia, which would include the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership deal between the two countries.
"This is a very important event for us, we attach great importance to it," Peskov emphasized, adding that both presidents plan to make a statement to the press.
Earlier, the Russian embassy in Tehran released a statement about the Iranian president's visit to Russia and meeting with his Russian counterpart.
The statement stated that on January 17, talks would be held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian during the latter's official visit to Russia.
The embassy further noted that the discussions are expected to cover the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, transportation and logistics, as well as humanitarian issues and current regional and international topics.
Following the talks, the statement said, Putin and Pezeshkian would sign a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Russia and Iran.
