Venezuela’s Maduro Reveals Ultra-Right Plot to Trigger Civil War in South American Nation

"The only scenario concocted by Venezuela’s Ultra-rights was to ignite a wave of violence," the Venezuelan leader said as he revealed that "an attempt to ignite a civil war" in the country had been made on July 29-30, TASS reported.

According to Maduro, non-governmental organizations had received millions of dollars to finance destabilization in Venezuela, involving organized crime in their scheme. "NGOs have every right to be present and work in Venezuela, but only if they comply with the laws and refrain from taking part in plots against peace in the republic," he stressed.

Plots and attempts to destabilize the situation in Venezuela had been "foiled by military and police units, as well as judicial and law enforcement forces," Maduro stated. "We stand ready to ensure peace, unity, harmony and progress in the country," the Venezuelan leader emphasized.
