Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, criticized Priyanka Gandhi for her choice of accessory. He pointed out that 5,600 young men from Uttar Pradesh are currently employed in infrastructure projects in the Israeli occupied territories, earning monthly salaries of 150,000 Indian Rupees (1.5 lakh). Adityanath emphasized that their remittances are contributing to India’s development and urged Gandhi to gain a better understanding of the Indian government’s policies.
Recently, the Israeli regime's ambassador visited Uttar Pradesh and praised the quality of work delivered by these Indian laborers, expressing a desire to recruit more workers from the state.
In contrast, a Pakistani official lauded Priyanka Gandhi's symbolic gesture and spoke favorably of her decision to display solidarity with Palestine.
Priyanka Gandhi, 52, officially entered Indian politics in 2019. She is the sister of Rahul Gandhi, former leader of the Congress Party, and the daughter of Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi. Her lineage places her firmly within the influential Nehru-Gandhi political dynasty.
Priyanka’s educational background includes attending Modern School and Jesus and Mary Convent, followed by a degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Buddhist Studies from Jesus and Mary College at the University of Delhi. She completed her higher education degree in 2010.
Her grandfather, Jawaharlal Nehru, was India’s first Prime Minister post-independence. Her grandmother, Indira Gandhi, and father, Rajiv Gandhi, also served as Prime Ministers, while her Italian-born mother, Sonia Gandhi, led the Congress Party until stepping back due to health issues.
