During his official visit to Syria, the Iranian defense minister held a meeting with Director of the National Security Bureau of the Regional Command of Syria Kifah Moulhem in Damascus on Sunday.
The two officials weighed plans for the expansion of defense and security cooperation between Iran and Syria in order to eradicate terrorism and promote peace and stability in the region.
Reaffirming Iran’s continued strategic supports for Syria in the fight against terrorism and in ensuring regional peace, General Nasirzadeh said Tehran will keep backing the resistance axis and the Syrian nation.
For his part, Moulhem praised Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s noble stances in support of the resistance as a heartening factor for the people of the region.
The Iranian defense minister has held separate meetings with his Syrian counterpart and President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus.
