The White House announced on Friday that US President Donald Trump will meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in February for the second time after they held their first summit in Singapore last year.
David William Pear, political, economic and historical columnist, said that “Kim Jong-un knows better than to trust the US. The US has violated every treaty and every agreement that it is made. In fact, it was the US that first nuclearized the Korean Peninsula in 1957 in violation of the 1953 Armistice Agreement.”
The commentator further referred to the fate of the deposed Libyan government, which trusted the United States, saying that “the lesson of Libya is that if you have nuclear weapons, don’t give them up and if you don’t have nuclear weapons, get them.”
