US media only promote what Wall Street handlers dictate

Hoenig, a former Green Party candidate for Congress, made the remarks while commenting on a new report prepared for the Senate Intelligence Committee.
The report, which was produced by researchers from the firm New Knowledge, said the Russian troll farm known as the Internet Research Agency (IRA) launched an online disinformation campaign in the lead up to the 2016 US election.
The campaign included messaging that supported 2016 Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein, the report claimed.
American broadcaster CNN was the first to claim that the Russian campaign had messaging that included support for Stein's third-party candidacy as well as support for Hillary Clinton's Democratic primary opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)
"There were some pro-Clinton Twitter posts (tweets and retweets), however, the developed Left-wing Twitter personas were still largely anti-Clinton and expressed pro-Bernie Sanders and pro-Jill Stein sentiments," the report said.
The report noted that "Pro-Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein content" was among the Russian campaign’s primary themes across platforms.
Commenting on this, Hoenig said, “Trump rails against fake news. To him, that’s any news program or network that criticizes him.
All the propaganda that all the networks engage in might as well be considered fake news. But this recent report of Russian involvement in the election is just another example of promoting a story that has legs, but didn’t really go anywhere.”
“Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, apparently was promoted by the Russians. More proof of the insidious nature of Russian intelligence and undermining American democracy! What nonsense! Stein could not even get 1% of the national vote. Just like the media, and of course the never-at-fault Democrats for anything, still blame Ralph Nader of the Green Party for Gore’s loss to George Bush, who with his family and connections, stole the 2000 election,” he stated.
“There were also pro-Bernie content but the Clinton campaign and the DNC (Democratic National Committee) did all they needed to destroy his chance of the nomination and then reel him into their orbit and renouncing the very principles he fought for by endorsing her, who represented nearly everything opposite Sanders’s positions,” the analyst stated.
“The media is woefully blind to reality, and only promote what their Wall Street handlers dictate. Just on CNN the other day the issue discussed was why the black turnout for Clinton was low and the discussion focused on the Russian meddling and influencing black voters. This is a racist argument as it assumes that the Clinton campaign owned the black vote but were deprived by Putin and his gang of commissars. Nowhere do ‘pundits’ talk about how awful the Clintons, in their past and present, were to the very issues than many black citizens feel for. To them, it had to be Russian involvement that dissuaded so many from going to the polls,” he noted.
“The question of whether or how much the Russians gamed the system is open for debate. Yet there is so much that is exaggerated, ignored, misdirected that what comes out of the most recent news cycle definitely needs to be seen with critical eyes,” he concluded.
