Islam Times - Controversial Sunni Saudi cleric Mohammed Arifi, the man who during a high-level meeting of Muslim scholars in Cairo on June 14 called for Jihad in Syria, encouraging all Sunni Muslims to stand against Syrian President Basahr al-Assad, was attacked in the streets of London this Friday - Oxford Street - as he was having a meal at McDonald.
At about 4pm on Friday afternoon two young Iraqi men recognized the Sheikh, who at the time was accompanied by three of his bodyguards. Angered and determined to make a point the two men assaulted the cleric. While one engaged the bodyguards into a fight the other grabbed hold of Sheikh Arifi, beating him up badly.
Under the blows, Arifi began to bleed from his head and nose.
The two young men then made their escape, leaving behind a shaken up Arifi.
When the Police arrived, a 50-year old Lebanese woman, Amal Hijazi explained what had happened.
In the defense of the two young Iraqi Amal told the police Sheikh Arifi is a vindictive radical cleric who has been encouraging young men to join Syria Jihadist movement.
She added, spitting in the Sheikh direction that the man is a terrorist, a member of the Wahhabi movement, which movement was created by the Jews to discredit Sunni Islam and make it appear a violent and extremist religion.
The Sheikh was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The cleric recently issued a fatwa asking practicing Muslim women to travel to Syria and offer their sexual services to the Jihadists.
