Islam Times - US President Donald Trump has issued an executive order, enabling the deportation of foreigners, including students, who participated in pro-Palestinian protests following the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza.
The executive order, titled "Additional Actions to Combat Anti-Semitism," was published on the White House website.
It states, “This order… is intended to take additional measures to strengthen the policy of combating anti-Semitism following the terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023, against the residents of Israel.”
The order adds, “These attacks unleashed an unprecedented wave of anti-Semitic discrimination… especially in our schools and university campuses.”
According to The New York Post, the order “will effectively lead to the deportation of foreigners, including student visa holders, who violated US laws by participating in pro-Palestinian protests that erupted after the events of October 7, 2023.”
The document further highlights, “Jewish students faced an unrelenting barrage of discrimination; denial of access to common areas and facilities on campus, including libraries and classrooms; intimidation, harassment, physical threats, and assault.”
It continues, “It will be the policy of the United States to combat anti-Semitism vigorously, using all available and appropriate legal tools, to prosecute, remove, or hold accountable perpetrators of unlawful anti-Semitic harassment and violence.”
The order follows Israel’s military response, which included strikes on civilian targets and a blockade of the Gaza Strip.
