Speaking to reporters in Iran’s southern port city of Bushehr on Sunday, IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri said his forces have launched various coast-to-sea and ground-to-ground missiles on the second say of the ‘Payambar-e Azam (The Great Prophet)’ war game underway in southern Iran.
He noted that IRGC experts have equipped the Mohajer-6 and Ababil-5 military drones with a new version of Qaem and Almas missiles that incorporate artificial intelligence capabilities to hit targets.
The IRGC Navy has for the first time launched Navvab missiles to provide aerial protection for the ‘martyr Soleimani’ warship, the general said.
According to the commander, the IRGC naval forces have also fired cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as the upgraded version of Qadr missiles whose range and precision have been improved for electronic warfare.
The IRGC Navy and the Iranian Defense Ministry have manufactured cruise missiles with ranges above 1,000 kilometers with the help of artificial intelligence that can detonate aerial targets at different altitudes, he added.
Admiral Tangsiri noted that the purpose of the war game is to enhance coordination and preparedness of the IRGC naval forces and convey the message of peace and friendship to the neighboring countries.
