American warplanes launched at least five airstrikes on the Harf Sufyan district in Yemen’s northwestern province of ‘Amran, according to Yemen’s al-Masirah television channel.
The strikes came hours after Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of Yemen's Ansarullah resistance movement, declared that Yemen would continue targeting Israeli-linked entities if Tel Aviv’s military actions in Gaza do not cease.
“Our military operations will continue in support of the Palestinian people if the Israeli enemy continues its genocidal massacres and escalation before implementing the ceasefire agreement,” al-Houthi stated in a televised speech on Thursday.
Yemenis have launched attacks against Israeli and American targets since Israel began its genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023. The strikes have also been a response to American and British military actions in Yemen.
The Yemeni military has targeted ships connected to Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom, aiming to halt the Tel Aviv regime’s assault on Gaza. These operations have notably disrupted Eilat port in southern Israel, inflicting economic challenges on the region.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared they will maintain their strikes until Israel ceases its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza.
Since the beginning of the war, Israeli attacks on Gaza have killed over 46,780 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injured nearly 111,000 others, escalating humanitarian concerns in the region.
