Pakistan Says 60 Sentenced for May 9 Riots
A statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the criminals have been sentenced by the Field General Court Martial in light of the Supreme Court’s decision. The Field General Court Martial handed down the sentences after examining all the evidence and  ensured the legal rights of the criminals and took action in accordance with the legal requirements.

Hassan Khan Niazi, son of Hafizullah Niazi, nephew of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, involved in the Jinnah House attack, has been sentenced to ten years in prison with hard labor. The other accused involved in the case were sentenced to two years, four years, and six years in prison with hard labor.  

The accused involved in the GHQ attack were sentenced to 6 years, 7 years, 9 years of prison. The criminals involved in the attack on Punjab Regiment Center Mardan and Headquarters Dir Scouts Timergara are sentenced to 2 and 4 years of rigorous imprisonment. 

Brigadier (retd) Javed Akram, involved in the Jinnah House attack, has also been sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment. In addition, the criminals involved in the Multan Cantt Check Post, Chakdara Fort, Bannu Cantt, Air Force Base Mianwali and Faisalabad ISI Office attacks have also been sentenced to 2, 4, 6, 7 and 8 years of rigorous imprisonment.

These sentences were announced today at a time when a negotiation team is in meeting with the PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. The negotiating committee includes Omar Ayub, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Salman Akram Raja, and Chife Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur.
