Yemen’s Ansarullah Condemns Israeli Strikes on Syria after Government Collapse
Ansarullah on Sunday condemned the “treacherous Israeli aggression” against Syria in the wake of escalating conflict.

In a statement, the resistance group said, “We are following with great concern the treacherous Israeli aggression against Syria, including the occupation of new areas and villages in Quneitra and Mount Hermon, as well as the intensification of its aggressive airstrikes on the city of Damascus.”

Ansarullah described the strikes as “a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and an overt attack on its territory and vital facilities.”

The group accused Israel of exploiting Syria’s fragile circumstances to “impose a new reality” in the region.

Ansarullah expressed solidarity with Syria and warned that the escalation “may not stop at certain borders but extend to other countries in the region, in light of continued American and Western support for the criminal Zionist entity’s schemes to impose Israeli and American hegemony over the region.”

The statement came hours after militant groups led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) seized control of Damascus, prompting President Bashar al-Assad to resign and call for a peaceful transition of power.

HTS commander Abu Mohammad al-Jolani announced that Syrian state institutions would be supervised by HTS leadership until the transition is completed.

The group also urged Syrian armed forces in Damascus to refrain from interfering with public institutions.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes launched fresh airstrikes on several parts of Syria, including Damascus, on Sunday.

Security sources reported that Israeli aircraft targeted the al-Mazzeh military base in Damascus and Khalkhalah in al-Suweida province.

Additional strikes hit a security complex in the Kafr Sousa district and residential areas on the outskirts of the capital, with loud explosions reportedly heard across the city.

Further attacks were reported in rural Daraa, where alleged weapons depots, missile manufacturing sites, and air defense systems were targeted.

The developments follow weeks of intensified conflict in Syria, culminating in the fall of key cities and the government’s collapse.
