Israeli Strikes in Gaza Kill Dozens As Assault on Hospitals Continues

More than 20 people, including six children and five women, have been killed in Israeli strikes on central Gaza's Nuseirat refugee camp, according to the Wafa news agency.
Gaza's civil defence agency reported that the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza's Beit Lahiya was attacked by Israeli forces, where at least 29 people were killed in a series of air strikes on and near the Kamal Adwan Hospital. Al Jazeera's correspondent in Gaza reported that Israeli tanks and drones around Kamal Adwan are "shooting at any moving object", whether inside the hospital or nearby.
Three were killed when an Israeli drone fired on Ahmed Shawqi School in the city. Israeli forces have ramped up their attacks on Gaza City in the northern Strip in recent days, killing and wounding tens of Palestinians. A Palestinian has been shot and killed in an Israeli attack in the al-Mawasi so-called "humanitarian zone" in southern Gaza, according to an Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent.
Hani al-Madhoun, the brother of Mahmoud al-Madhoun, the co-founder of the Gaza Soup Kitchen who was killed in an Israeli attack on November 30, said Israeli forces "hunted" his brother down. Speaking to AJ+ from his home in the US, Hani said the Israeli forces who killed his brother had known who they were targeting. "My brother was a civilian feeding people. And still they went and killed him," he said. "I feel angry because this is a targeted assassination. They hunted my brother. "
Antonio Guterres has said the "nightmare must stop" in Gaza, adding that the international community "cannot continue to look away". "The catastrophe in Gaza is nothing short of a complete breakdown of our common humanity," the UN secretary-general said in a post on X.
The Israeli military has carried out several deadly attacks over the past day as it laid siege to the Kamal Adwan Hospital and the surrounding area in northern Gaza. One such attack, caught on video in a clip authenticated by Al Jazeera's Sanad verification unit, involved Israeli forces opening fire on a Palestine Red Crescent Society ambulance. At least 29 people have been killed in the assault so far.
Israel's assault on Gaza continued, including in the Jabalia refugee camp in the north, where a huge explosion was reported, believed to have been caused by Israeli forces demolishing buildings.
Eight Palestinians have been medically evacuated from Gaza for treatment in European hospitals, World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said.
Israel's genocidal war on Gaza has killed at least 44,612 Palestinians and wounded 105,834 since October 7, 2023.
