Venezuela Decries Militant Attacks in Syria, Urges Global Solidarity
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto issued a strong statement condemning the attacks carried out by militants under Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which he described as causing "serious damage to the civilian population and worsening the humanitarian situation in Aleppo province." The statement was shared on his Telegram channel and reported by RT Arabic.

The Venezuelan government expressed solidarity with Syria and its President Bashar al-Assad, affirming its support for the Syrian army's measures aimed at restoring peace across the country.

"The Bolivarian government calls on the international community to condemn the ongoing terrorism against the Syrian Arab Republic and its people," the statement read.

It also demanded "an immediate end to support for terrorists from Western powers and the Netanyahu regime," which it accused of destabilizing the Middle East and threatening global peace.

The condemnation follows a series of attacks by militants, who launched an operation last Wednesday. These actions have allowed them to seize significant areas in Aleppo, its surrounding countryside, and Idlib.

In response, the Syrian army has announced a redeployment operation on the Aleppo, Hama and Idlib fronts. The objective is to fortify defense lines, safeguard civilians and soldiers, and prepare for a counteroffensive.

During discussions with Venezuelan counterparts on Sunday, Syrian officials provided further details on the attacks. Faisal al-Sabbagh, a Syrian representative, highlighted the extensive impact of the militant offensive, which he said "terrorized safe civilians, disrupted all aspects of life, and caused a large wave of displacement."

Al-Sabbagh emphasized Syria's commitment to continuing its fight against terrorism while striving to restore security, stability, and the nation's territorial sovereignty.

Echoing these sentiments, Gil Pinto reiterated Venezuela's condemnation of the attacks and expressed solidarity with Syria. He underscored Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's support for the Syrian people and leadership.
