Islam Times - Gaza's civil defense reported Friday that Israeli attacks in northern Gaza claimed the lives of 100 Palestinians within 24 hours, escalating the humanitarian crisis in the enclave.
The Gaza civil defense confirmed that 75 of the fatalities occurred in Israeli airstrikes targeting two homes in Beit Lahia.
The remaining casualties were reported in Jabalia and other parts of northern Gaza, according to civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal.
“The number of martyrs since the start of the Israeli military operation in northern Gaza (on Oct. 5) has reached 2,700 Palestinians, and 10,000 others are injured,” Basal told Anadolu.
He described the situation as a "catastrophe and genocide," highlighting the absence of any relief efforts for civilians in the area.
Basal stated that the Israeli military targets all movement in northern Gaza, with individuals fetching water, food, or wood coming under attack.
Since October 5, Israel has intensified ground operations in northern Gaza, claiming its objective is to prevent Hamas from regrouping without providing evidence. Palestinians, however, said that Israel aims to occupy the territory and forcibly displace its residents.
Humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, and fuel, has been largely restricted, pushing the 80,000 residents in northern Gaza toward the brink of famine.
The broader Israeli military campaign, launched on October 7, 2003, has resulted in over 44,000 deaths across Gaza. The densely populated enclave is now deemed uninhabitable.
Last week, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its ongoing offensive in Gaza.
