Islam Times - Israel launched early morning airstrikes on Syrian provinces Aleppo and Idlib on Saturday, injuring several soldiers and causing material damage, according to Syria’s state news agency SANA.
Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on multiple locations in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported on Saturday.
Syrian air defense forces intercepted some of the missiles launched by Israel from “the direction of the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan Heights and Lebanese territories,” SANA added.
According to the report, the strikes injured several Syrian soldiers and caused material losses.
SANA also reported explosions near Damascus, Syria’s capital.
Israel has conducted hundreds of airstrikes in Syria since 2011, following the onset of foreign-backed militancy in the country.
The frequency of Israeli air raids in Syria has escalated recently, with Tel Aviv refraining from commenting on the operations, which observers see as a reaction to Syrian forces' success against terrorist groups.
The Syrian government has repeatedly appealed to the UN Security Council to intervene and halt the Israeli violations of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
These latest attacks occur as Israel continues its genocidal military campaign in Gaza, which has resulted in more than 43,500 deaths, with a reported 70 percent of the casualties being women and children over the past year.
