Gaza Civilians Killed in Israeli Airstrikes as Shelters Become Targets
More Palestinian civilians are facing lethal attacks as Israel persists in its intensive airstrikes across the besieged Gaza Strip.

On Thursday, at least 14 people were killed, and dozens sustained injuries in an Israeli airstrike on a United Nations-operated school in the Shati refugee camp, according to Palestinian rescue workers. The school was being used as a shelter for displaced families.

In the al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, another residential building was bombed. The UN reported that around 85% of schools in Gaza have been impacted by the ongoing bombardment, with many of these schools serving as refuges for hundreds of thousands of Palestinians displaced by Israeli genocidal war.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) stated that 70% of the schools under its administration have also been hit.

Israeli airstrikes have left much of the infrastructure and public facilities in eastern Gaza reduced to rubble, forcing families to take refuge in remaining open spaces and any viable buildings.

In addition, a home in the al-Tahlia neighborhood near Khan Yunis was targeted. Northern Gaza, where the Israeli military has concentrated attacks for more than a month, witnessed multiple fatalities in various airstrikes across the region.

Gaza officials report that some 80,000 people remain trapped in northern Gaza, facing a severe shortage of food and medical supplies.

Since the beginning of Israel's brutal campaign, over 43,400 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 102,500 injured, as the humanitarian crisis continues to deepen.
