Islam Times - Iran Hits Back at Germany for Deploring Execution of Terror Group Ringleader

Islam Times - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi lashed out at Germany for the condemnation of execution of Jamshid Sharmahd, stressing that no terrorist enjoys impunity in Iran, even if they are supported by Germany.

In a post on his X account on Tuesday, Araqchi dismissed the German government’s concerns about the execution of Sharmahd, the ringleader of the Tondar (Thunder) terrorist group.

Jamshid Sharmahd, who was convicted last year, was executed on Monday.

“No terrorist enjoys impunity in Iran. Even if supported by Germany,” Araqchi said.

“Iranian national Jamshid Sharmahd openly and unashamedly led a terrorist attack on a MOSQUE that killed 14 innocent people —including women and children. More than 200 were injured. The evidence is public and available for all to see,” he added.

“A German passport does not provide impunity to anyone, let alone a terrorist criminal,” Araqchi said, urging his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock to stop “gaslighting”.

“Stop supporting child killers and terrorists and do not hide yourself behind hypocritical human rights slogans. We have not forgotten about the chemical weapons provided to Saddam's regime by German nationals,” the Iranian minister said.

“Your government is accomplice in the ongoing Israeli genocide. Germany is the No. 2 provider of lethal weapons to Israel for its genocidal campaign in Gaza and carnage in Lebanon. Look around. Even your own people ridicule your arrogant human rights claims,” he told the German foreign minister.

His post came after Germany recalled its ambassador to Iran over the execution of Sharmahd and summoned the Iranian charge d'affaires to voice Berlin's protest.

Sharmahd was an Iranian national who also held German citizenship and resided in the US.

The Tondar terrorist group was founded in the UK in 2003 by a number of monarchists, led by Fathollah Manouchehri and Foroud Fooladvand, with the purpose of theorizing anti-religious terrorism.

The Iranian court had ruled that Jamshid Sharmahd has been involved in plots to carry out 23 terrorist attacks and had managed to implement five cases.
