Death Toll Rises in Jabalia As Thousands Trapped Without Aid

13 Oct 2024 10:13

Islam Times - At least 20 people have been killed in a fresh Israeli strike on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, extending the siege of the area into its seventh day.

This week, Israeli airstrikes on Jabalia have killed over 150 Palestinians, including women and children, according to the Financial Times.

Many people have been reported missing or injured, while around 300,000 remain trapped in the city.

“It’s more than scary — the situation is critical,” a resident who fled Jabalia before the offensive told the Financial Times. “It seems that the Jabalia camp will be erased from Gaza’s geography.”

Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in northern Gaza are now at risk of death, either from continued Israeli airstrikes or from starvation due to the ongoing blockade.

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas condemned Israel on Saturday, accusing it of carrying out “massacres” and continuing “genocidal crimes against our people,” with US support.

Since October 2023, at least 42,126 people have been killed and 98,117 wounded in Gaza as a result of Israeli attacks.
