Syrian Government Condemns Israeli Air Raid on Capital

Islam Times - Syria denounced an Israeli air raid on Damascus that killed seven civilians, including women and children, and injured several others.
On Tuesday, Israeli missiles struck a residential building in the densely populated Mezzah neighborhood, west of Damascus.
According to the Syrian army, at least seven people, including women and children, were killed, and eleven others were wounded in the attack.
"Nearly at 20:15 on Tuesday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression with three missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a residential building in the Mezzah neighborhood, claiming the lives of seven civilians, among them women and children, injuring 11 others in the initial toll, and causing massive material damage to properties," a Syrian military source told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
Rescue efforts are underway to retrieve individuals trapped under the debris, the source added.
In a statement on Tuesday night, the Syrian foreign ministry condemned the Israeli attack, calling it a "brutal crime against defenseless civilians."
The ministry described the strike as part of Israel’s ongoing violence in the region, citing its crimes in Lebanon and Palestine.
Israel frequently targets military positions in Syria, particularly those linked to Hezbollah, the Lebanese resistance movement aiding the Syrian army in its fight against foreign-backed insurgents.
The Israeli regime rarely comments on these operations, which many interpret as responses to Syria’s success in combating terrorism.
Damascus has repeatedly called on the UN Security Council to halt Israel’s ongoing attacks, which violate Syrian sovereignty.
These strikes occur as Israel faces international criticism for its actions in the Gaza Strip, where nearly 42,000 people, mostly women and children, have reportedly been killed in the past year.
