Iran Warns Third Parties Not to Interfere after Missile Attack on Israel

2 Oct 2024 09:19

Islam Times - The foreign minister of Iran warned third parties to avoid interference in the conflict following Tehran’s missile attack against Israeli targets in revenge for the assassination of resistance leaders and IRGC forces.

Abbas Araqchi held telephone conversations with his counterparts from the UK, France, the Netherlands and a number of other countries on Tuesday night to discuss the situation following a massive missile attack that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps launched against Israeli military targets earlier in the day.

The foreign minister said Iran showed self-restraint for over two months after the Israeli assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and the continuation of the war on Gaza and Lebanon that have killed more than 42,000 people.

Araqchi made it clear that Iran has only exercised its right to legitimate self-defense in conformity with the UN Charter Article 51 and has solely targeted the military and security bases of the Zionist regime.

Iran’s operation against Israel is over, unless the Zionist regime plans retaliation, in which case Tehran’s response will be stronger, he warned.

Araqchi stated that Iran is not looking for escalation, but is not afraid of war either. “We warn third parties not to interfere in the conflict,” he stated.

The Iranian foreign minister also called for collective efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza and stop the Israeli regime’s onslaught and the escalation of tensions in the region, especially in Gaza and Lebanon.
