Hezbollah Launches Retaliatory Strikes on Israeli Positions, Illegal Settlements

Islam Times - The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah launched fresh attacks on Israeli military positions and illegal settlements in northern occupied Palestinian territories in response to Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese towns.

Hezbollah issued a statement on Monday morning confirming the strikes, which were in support of Palestinian resistance in Gaza and in defense of Lebanon.

The resistance group announced, “In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their valiant and honorable resistance, and in defense of Lebanon and its people, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance, on Monday, 30-09-2024, targeted the ‘Sadah’ site with artillery shells, hitting it directly.”

In addition to artillery, Hezbollah fired Fadi-1 missiles at the “Ovik” camp and deployed a squadron of drones against Israeli forces stationed at the “Ali-atakim” camp.

Further artillery strikes targeted the “Ramia” site, while multiple Israeli settlements, including the occupied city of Safed, came under rocket fire.

Hezbollah emphasized that these attacks were a response to Israeli violations against Lebanese towns and villages and served as support for Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Government Emergency Committee reported that Israel conducted 216 airstrikes across Lebanon in the last 24 hours.

According to Lebanon’s Public Health Emergency Operations Center, 105 people were killed, and 359 others wounded in the Israeli bombardment, which targeted areas in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa, Baalbek-Hermel, and Beirut's southern suburbs.

The ongoing Israeli airstrikes are largely attributed to Hezbollah's backing of the Palestinian cause since Israel's offensive on Gaza began in October 2023.

Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah for more than thirty years was martyred when Israeli regime forces used bunker-buster bombs and US-made jet fighters to attack a suburb of Beirut on Friday.
