Israel Conducts Airstrikes on Syria-Lebanon Border, Killing Civilians

According to the Syrian state news agency (SANA), an Israeli airstrike targeted a military post near the town of Kfeyr Yabous in the countryside of Syria's Damascus province at approximately 1:35 a.m. local time. The strike, launched from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, resulted in the deaths of five Syrian soldiers and left others wounded.
The Syrian military source stated that the attack caused significant damage to the military facility. This comes amid heightened tensions in the region following Israeli military aggression against Lebanon.
Meanwhile, in Lebanon, nine civilians from the same family were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a residential home in the southern town of Shebaa. The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the strike occurred after midnight.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry confirmed two deaths and 15 injuries from another Israeli strike on a building near the Rweis intersection in Beirut’s southern suburb.
Israeli airstrikes also targeted several villages in southern Lebanon, including Nabatieh, Kafr Rumman, and other nearby areas, causing extensive damage and civilian casualties. Several homes and buildings were hit, leading to injuries among residents.
In the early hours of the morning, Israeli warplanes bombed a house in Joya in the Tyre (Sour) district, while separate air raids caused fires in buildings in Baalbek and the surrounding areas. Lebanese Civil Defense teams worked for hours to extinguish the flames.
Additionally, the Lebanese Army announced that its specialized units would conduct controlled explosions to neutralize unexploded ordnance left from the Israeli attacks in the Costa Brava-Shweifat area between 9 a.m. and noon today.
