Speaking during an inspection of Iran’s Northeast Air Defense region, he announced that the country is now the top air defense power in the region, fully prepared to confront any aerial threats.

“In line with strengthening the country’s defense capabilities, the Army’s Air Defense Force has undertaken extensive measures to upgrade its radar and missile systems,” General Sabahifard said on Friday. He added that joint maneuvers with other branches of the armed forces further demonstrate the Air Defense Force’s readiness to protect Iran’s airspace.

The general emphasized that these advancements are the result of years of work by domestic experts and significant investment in Iran’s defense infrastructure. He noted that the improvements have significantly increased the security of the country’s airspace and the ability to respond to potential threats.

While inspecting various defense positions in the region, General Sabahifard assessed the combat and operational readiness of the forces stationed there. He reiterated the importance of maintaining high levels of vigilance and preparedness among air defense personnel to effectively defend Iran’s skies.

This development comes at a time of heightened tensions in the region, following the assassination of former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran by Israel. Iran has vowed to retaliate against the attack at the appropriate time.
