Yemen’s Ansarullah: The Resistance Camp’s Leverage on Netanyahu

21 Sep 2024 02:28

Islam Times - Yahya Sinwar who has recently become Hamas leader last week wrote to Lebanese Hezbollah and Yemeni Ansarullah's leaders, thanking them for their unwavering support to the Palestinian nation.

The letter came after the an attack carried out at Israeli by Ansarullah Movement using hypersonic ballistic missile.

"It is my pleasure that I wrote this letter to you on the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet [Muhammad] , while we are fighting the blessed Al-Aqsa Storm [battle] together," part of the letter read.

The leader of Hamas emphasized that [Operationn] "Al-Aqsa Storm dealt a strong blow to the Zionist project in the region. It is my pleasure to thank you for the sincere support, high emotions and strong will we have seen from you in the battle of Al-Aqsa Storm."

"Palestine woke up with the news of your operation in the framework of the fifth stage of your participation in the Al-Aqsa Storm battle. Congratulations on the success of your missile reaching the depth of the aggressor occupation regime and passing through all the defense and interception systems," the letter further read.

The leader of Hamas continued that "your operations against the depths of the occupation regime once again revived the brilliance of the Al-Aqsa Storm battle and its impact on the heart of Tel Aviv. Your unique operation sent a message to the enemy that [its] deterrence has failed and that the fronts supporting Gaza are effective and active."

Sinwar wrote: "The heroes of the dear Yemeni army developed and strengthened their military strength and reached the depths of the usurping regime. I express my greetings to the great nation of Yemen, who help the Palestinian nation and its fair cause. Also, the fields of dear Yemen witness the position of the people on the Palestinian cause on a weekly basis since the start of the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm. Our nation in Gaza is suffering from encroachment and siege. The Al-Qassam Brigades continue fierce resistance against the enemy. Al-Qassam carried out the October 7 operation with unparalleled power and conducted a defensive battle within a whole year, which made the enemy helpless and brought it to its knees."

"I assure you that resistance is healthy and everything the enemy declares is a lie and in line with psychological warfare. We have prepared ourselves for a long-term war of attrition that will crush the enemy's political will just as the Al-Aqsa Storm crushed the enemy's military will. The growing efforts of us and you and the brothers of the resistance in Lebanon and the Islamic resistance in Iraq will crush this enemy and make it taste defeat," he maintained.

Sinwar's letter indicates that despite the assassination of senior Hamas leaders in recent months and the destruction of Gaza by the occupation army, the Palestinian resistance is at the highest level of readiness and the escalation of Israeli crimes cannot undermine the morale of Palestinian fighters.

Hamas letter is part of the "unity of fronts", a theory suggesting that branches of Axis of Resistance fight common enemy together. This letter signals that resistance groups from Yemen to Palestine are in full coordination levels to punish the enemy.

Since the beginning of war, Hamas has enjoyed support of all of the resistance groups in the region, but it specifically counts on Ansarullah's power to deal blows to interests of the Israeli occupation.

Ansarullah started its missile operations in the Red Sea since the start of conflict, targeting Israeli ships and Western ships violating the ban on the Israeli ports. Short time after the Yemeni campaign, the traffic of Israeli ships through this international waterway dropped to zero.

Ansarullah was not seeking tensions with this operation, rather, it pressed the leaders of Tel Aviv to end the genocide in Gaza as soon as possible. But as the Israeli hardline leaders insisted on continuation of the war, the Yemenis broadened the range of their operation, covering Indian Ocean.

As the Israeli war crimes unfolded, Ansarullah added to its surprises in operations, going beyond the Indian Ocean. The Yemeni movement started a new stage of its operation striking port of Eilat with drones on the extreme south of the occupied territories. Later in July, Ansarullah fired a missile at Tel Aviv, showing that the whole occupied territories are within Yemen's fire range.

The Israelis thought that with the airstrikes on Hudaydah port in the west of Yemen on July 20 Ansarullah would stop its operations, but they appeared to have miscalculated, and with the landing of the hypersonic missile in the depth of the occupied territories on September 15, a new equation in deterrence between the resistance and Israel began.

The intelligence and security institutions of Tel Aviv are still in shock as the missile penetrated six missile defense layers. They have not provided a detailed report on how the missile was fired and landed, which led to the sharp-toned reaction of local media that criticized the army and its air defense performance.

Ansarullah's missile power a leverage against Tel Aviv

Boosting the deterrence power of Yemen, which is capable of attacking distant targets with precision and speed, increases the cost of any military action against Yemen. Therefore, this hypersonic missile operation serves as a warning to Tel Aviv and its Western enablers to remove military action against Yemen from their options, because Ansarullah's response to any further hostilities will be more painful than before.

Gaining the hypersonic missile capability also helps strengthen the element of surprise for the Axis of Resistance.

Strengthening the military power of the resistance forces to target distant and important strategic targets inside the occupied territories, such as power plants, water distribution network, technology companies or important and main military bases, as well as the ability of these missiles to reach targets in a short time will cause significant damage to the depth of the occupied territories, which can build internal pressure on the Netanyahu government.

When Ansarullah struck Tel Aviv, nearly 2 million Israelis unprecedentedly rushed to the shelters fearing large-scale missile barrages. So, if a large number of uninterceptable hypersonic missiles are fired, the security situation in Israel will go more critical, since the settlers no longer trust the missile defenses to protect them.

Hamas leaders know that the more the resistance groups support Palestine, the more the enemy will sink in a security encircle mental, and as the security officials of this regime admit that at present the army is not in a position to fight on several fronts. So, Hamas leaders have their eyes on Yemen's missile power to force the Israeli occupation back from its stances.

Since the beginning, Netanyahu cabinet pushed to broaden the war range to regional levels to turn the tide in favor of Tel Aviv. But this plan proved a miscalculation, and the shadow of threat is now on the Israeli homes.

With this successful missile launch, which crossed the American and British naval air defenses in the Red Sea, the Yemenis proved that no defenses can hold their missiles and drones back, and so the Israeli regime lost its deterrence not just in Gaza and Lebanon but also in the Red Sea, and the idea of expansion of war not only has not removed the shadow of security threats, but also increased it.

Therefore, Netanyahu is now in a big trouble in Yemen, especially that after their recent missile attack the Yemenis warned Tel Aviv that if it takes an action against Sana'a, it will receive a response harsher than before.
