How’s Horror of Iran Revenge Plaguing the Israelis?
4 Aug 2024 09:49
Islam Times - Repeated threats by Iran and Lebanese Hezbollah about dealing heavy blows to the Israeli regime in revenge for the assassination of Hezbollah commander in Beirut Fuad Shukr and Hamas Political Bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran are rattling the Israelis.
The Israeli television reported that after the assassinations, Tel Aviv has raised its alarm at high levels and the air defenses are on alert to intercept any attacks from the Axis of Resistance.
The Israeli army decided to cancel leave of troops due to the fear and concern of the inevitable response to the assassination of resistance commanders. The Hebrew media announced the state of emergency and the cancellation of leaves of all ground, sea and air military units and all training centers.
Israeli officials within reach
Since it is said that the operations of Iran and Hezbollah will be different from that of April and this time it will be eye for eye, the senior officials of Tel Aviv are not safe either.
In this regard, Israel's internal security agency (Shabak) has increased the level of protection of Netanyahu and his ministers for fear of Iran's response. Shabak also asked the PM and cabinet ministers not to be present in places where there is no security. Netanyahu also demanded that Shabak obtain prior approval for any travel by him or ministers.
Also, the Hebrew media talk about increasing the alarm level due to the response of Hezbollah and Iran and the fleeing of the settlers to the shelters.
According to Maariv newspaper, the command of the home front ordered the factories located 40 kilometers from the border with Lebanon to empty or secure the ammonia tanks in order to avoid the scenario of dangerous gas leakage that could harm the environment and people. In this regard, the Strauss ammonia plant in Acre has stopped its activity. Currently, there are 30 plants, many of them in the food sector, that use ammonia in production and cooling processes.
In addition, the ministry of economy added 50 Victory chain stores to the list of branches that will be open and have sufficient inventory in emergency situations. They are located near a shelter or a protected area and there are personnel who can continue to operate in an emergency. Israeli media have reported over the past few days that Israeli settlers have rushed to stores to buy essential items to store for several weeks.
The fear in the occupied territories of the reaction of the Iran-led Axis of Resistance is so widespread that even foreign airlines have canceled their flights to Tel Aviv. In addition to Germany's Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian airlines, Delta and United Airlines and Indian Airlines also canceled all flights to the Israeli capital Tel Aviv.
No place safe for Israelis
In addition to the Israeli citizens, the diplomats of this regime all over the world are also in extreme fear of Iran's revenge. Channel 12 reported that tight measures have been implemented in the embassies of this regime for the fear of an Iranian attack. The Israeli media reported that embassies were ordered to be on high alert and diplomats were asked to stay away from crowded places.
Although Netanyahu and Israeli security officials are telling citizens not to worry and that the army will defend them, terrified Israelis are spending hours of horor.
The anchors of Israel's Kan news channel addressed Tel Aviv's mayor, saying: "You are not worried about Iranian, Houthi and Hezbollah missiles. The whole world turned against us and they all warned and tweeted to get away from Tel Aviv." Ron Huldai, the mayor of Tel Aviv, said in this regard: "I am very worried, we have been in a state of war for 300 days and the rockets have made their way to Tel Aviv, we do not know where we are going."
In the meantime, a large number of residents are looking for plane tickets to leave the occupied territories.
According to reports, Ben-Gurion Airport is full of many travelers who intend to leave the occupied territories due to the chaos there. However, the traffic of fleeing from the occupied territories has made it difficult for airlines.
Earlier, the New York Times reported that Lufthansa, Switzerland, Austria, India and the two American airlines of Delta and United Airlines canceled all their flights to Tel Aviv.
At the same time, Italian ITA Airways announced on its website the cancellation of all flights to Tel Aviv until August 6.
All administrative departments throughout the occupied territories are in a state of war, to an extent that heads of the health system, including officials of the ministry of health and representatives of health insurance funds and hospitals have held meetings in recent days to prepare for the war, with special emphasis on the northern front with Lebanon.
According to an announcement by ministry of health, authorities have raised emergency readiness in medical manpower, the status of protective complexes, emergency equipment, cyber protection, mental health arrays and action methods. Lists were drawn up for patient evacuation, usually in complex conditions, to safe areas if necessary.
On the other hand, the occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Municipality has sent letters containing instructions to residents to prepare for emergency situations. The mayor of Haifa canceled all ceremonies that cannot be protected. The command of the home front of the Israeli regime advised the citizens: "Set your radios on one of these frequencies and receive the warnings in silent wave format, the radio stations do not broadcast any program except the warning of the incoming missiles."
Fearing that the communication network would be damaged in the event of a possible attack by Hezbollah and Iran, Netanyahu's government decided to distribute satellite phones to ministers and senior officials.
Economic vulnerability
The Israeli army also conducts air and sea patrols near gas platforms for fear of being targeted by resistance groups. Protection of the gas platforms has been significantly increased since the air force attacked Yemen's Hudaydah port two weeks ago, after Ansarullah launched an explosive drone that hit central Tel Aviv. If the energy facilities of the Israeli regime are damaged and the process of supplying oil and gas faces problems, the conditions inside the occupied territories will become more difficult and this issue has sent shivers down Israeli officials' spine.
On the other hand, the fear of Iran's attack has also had a negative impact on the Israeli stock market index. Hebrew-language media reported that following the escalation between Israel and Iran, massive selling by investors caused Tel Aviv stock market crash. According to this report, 45,000 commercial projects have been damaged since the beginning of the Israeli military aggression in Gaza and the attacks carried out by the Axis of Resistance against occupied Palestine.
The crash of the stock market in the occupied territories comes while Iran and Hezbollah have not done anything yet and have only issued revenge warning for the blood of the martyrs of the resistance, and if a large-scale operation is carried out, great damage will be inflicted on the already-suffering Israeli regime.
Over the past year, because of the ambitious policies of Tel Aviv hardliners, dozens of Jewish investors have stopped investing in the occupied territories, and according to the Israeli media, more than $80 billion of capital has left Israel since the establishment of the radical government of Netanyahu. Therefore, with the escalation of tensions and the insecurity of the occupied territories, capital fleeing and the deterioration of financial crises will plague Tel Aviv. This will be costly for the military, which needs funding, as the war continues in Gaza and the northern front.
Tel Aviv demanding help from allies
The hardline officials of Tel Aviv, who are well aware of the dimensions of military response by Iran and resistance groups, have reached out to allies to stand by them in confronting the Resistance camp.
Speaking to Channel 12, a Tel Aviv security source said that Israel is coordinating with friendly countries to intercept any Iranian attack, as happened last April. The partners are strengthening their forces in the region with the aim of helping Tel Aviv to defend itself in case of an Iranian attack, the source added.
In recent days, Washington officials have stated that they are seeking to defuse tensions in the region, but they have announced that they will defend the aggressive regime. It is reported that the US has dispatched its ships to the Eastern Mediterranean and has also increased the alert level of its forces in the Persian Gulf.
In an interview with MSNBC, John Kirby, spokesman for the White House National Security Council, addressed Tel Aviv, saying: "The words of the Iranian authorities about taking revenge on Israel should be taken seriously. Iran has so far proven that it has the ability and willingness to launch a major attack on Israel."
The New York Times reported that Washington is preparing to send additional troops to the Middle East, fearing an all-out war. Reports even said that the American government asked its diplomats to leave Israel immediately.
Axios reported Friday that Washington will try with all its might to intercept Iranian attacks. American intelligence officials emphasized that Israel should prepare for several days of interception of attacks from Iran, because Tehran's attacks will be longer and heavier in terms of time and scale than April.
Israeli television reported on the type of reaction of Iran and the resistance groups, saying: "We predict that Iran will launch a massive attack with hundreds of missiles and drones in the next few days, and everyone is on alert."
Tel Aviv mayor said that radar systems throughout the region, not just Tel Aviv, are on standby in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Africa and on warships. All these preventive measures are taken by the Arab allies of the US and Israel to monitor any Yemeni attack towards Tel Aviv.
In the Operation True Promise which was carried out on April 14 in response to the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Western countries with the help of some Arab states intercepted a number of Iranian missiles and drones so that the Israelis would suffer less casualties. Since this time the operation will probably be carried out from several fronts and on a wider scale, the Iron Dome systems and other Israeli defense systems will have a difficult task, and therefore this time they have resorted to the Westerners and some Arab partners to survive heavy strikes.
But contrary to the imagination of Israelis, this time the story is different because Netanyahu has crossed all the red lines of Iran and Hezbollah, and this cannot be reversed without imposing heavy costs on Israel that can even shake the pillars of Israeli existence.
Republican candidate Donald Trump has warned that his defeat again will cause the Israeli regime to cease to exist. Making this claim, the former president called on the Jewish Americans to vote for him in November, adding that if they fail to support him, Israel will be annihilated by its enemies.
